Identifying primarily as a poet, morning pages are a bit of a waste on me. (SEE http://juliacameronlive.com/basic-tools/morning-pages/)

So I started trying to write 1 sentence per day, and it's been awesome.

There were a few days where I used to take 2 hours to write one sentence. (I'm reminded of a professor who--apocrypha would have us believe--had notebooks where the same sentence would be worked over and over again, by hand, until it was perfect.)

There are day where it's a burst of inspiration.

Most days are somewhere in between.

Because I'm me, I begin each sentence with the phrase "My heart" and continue on. It creates a nice backbone for the whole thing.

Sure there are days and weeks where I don't write. NaNoWriMo comes to mind. However, overall, I'm pretty good at it; and I think you would be good at it too. So give it a try, and don't feel like you need to do it like me. Do it however you want in whatever way you want as long as it's done.
